Being North America's largest perforator and value-added specialist comes with responsibility. In addition to punching off-the-shelf patterns and supplying standard perforated sheets, blanks or recoil, we are quick and nimble when handling any project of any shape and size that our customers bring to the table.

Beyond leveling, your project may require value-added, post-perforating such as shearing, stamping, turret punching or laser profiling. Taking that one step further, you may even require dimensional forming, welding and finishing such as electropolishing, anodizing or powder coating to arrive at an installation-ready finished product.

For more than 100 years, Diamond has been producing customers' programs to match their drawings and specifications. But many times OEMs and fabricators need assistance with product design and the manufacturing process.

Custom Engineering

Need a custom design?

Let Diamond's engineering team turn your vision into a reality.

We can help you plan, design, render and prototype your custom project.

CONTACT ENGINEERING

Diamond's dedicated in-house engineering team will help you turn an idea into reality — converting your concept into a living, breathing product. We receive your drawings and direction and start by asking you great questions:

  • How and where the product will be used
  • Application goals and challenges
  • Durability and product lifecycle
  • Packaging, labeling and logistics

From there, our engineers will be able to recommend factors such as material type, format, thickness, hole size, hole shape, hole configuration, open area, margins and surface finish. (For more information discover "How to Specify Your Perforated Job".)

We leverage the latest technologies and employ advanced software to design your product to your specifications to ensure the finished product will perform flawlessly and integrate within your workflow.

All in all, the goal of Diamond's engineering team is to collaborate with you to determine the appropriate product quality for the job to increase your value, provide the best possible cost and help you bring your product to market quickly and efficiently.

Need to keep a secret? Rest assured, Diamond ensures complete confidentiality of your proprietary designs and processes.

Custom Tooling

Our engineers love tools. It's been said that you need the right tool for the right job. Your job.

That's why Diamond maintains over 4,000 tooling patterns—we are over-prepared for whatever project comes our way. We design and maintain our perforated machine tools to handle staggered and straight rounds ranging in hole sizes from 0.010" to 12.0" in diameter, as well as slots, squares, hexagons, decorative and other geometric patterns.

When your custom-engineered project requires custom tooling, Diamond's engineering and manufacturing teams spring into action. We are capable of designing specialized machine tools to critical tolerances—and that includes perforating press tooling and stamping press dies.

Our on-site CNC drill presses and precision-wire EDM machines paired with our heat-treating capabilities and automated-grinding arrays enable us to build the exact tools needed to produce your job…on time and within budget. Contact us to discuss your specific project needs.

Project Consulting

When you are getting your project off the ground, it helps to know what materials to use, which patterns to consider and other critical factors such as open area, side and end margins, end pattern options or secondary fabricating operations including corner profiling, notching, corrugating, countersunk holes and locator holes.

Diamond's engineering team will inquire on your specific needs and match the best approach to producing the end product.
