Packaging and Labeling

Diamond’s products are packaged to prevent damage and spoilage during shipment. Depending on how susceptible it is to damage, packaging varies based on the size, shape, and quantity of the product, as well as the customer’s maximum skid weight and unloading capabilities.

PRODUCT QUALITY,
COST & DELIVERY

For example, small volume light gauge sheets are sandwiched between hardboard, whereas, large volume, heavy gauge sheets of the same size are not. Regardless of size, shape, and quantity, Diamond standard packaging calls for product to be placed on a rough cut hard wood skid, covered with waxed craft paper, and secured with banding.

NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, product is packaged for van unloading. Sheet product typically does not exceed 6,000 lbs., whereas coil product will not exceed 20,000 lbs. If product is to be either side or crane unloaded, please specify flatbed truck. If the typical weight limit is either too high or not high enough, then it should be communicated to a Customer Service Representative.

Package and Labeling includes customer name, part size, quantity, Diamond’s sales order number, and the customer’s purchase order number. Additional markings (i.e. bar-coding) may be added if specified by the customer.
